Criteria for ANCA-Vasculitis
Draft classification criteria for the ANCA associated vasculitides
Abstract: OP0021
Authors: Robson J.C. et al.
Based on the availability of ANCA measurements in most laboratories, diagnosis of ANCA vasculitis became much easier in recent years. In clinical practice, however, it may remain difficult to classify vasculitis within the group of ANCA vasculitides. The Diagnosis and Classification of the Systemic Vasculitides (DCVAS) study is an international project to update classification criteria.
Key content:
The development of classification criteria for Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA), Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA) and eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (eGPA) consisted of three phases, a review of cases to identify items, an item reduction phase and regression models to define and quantify variables. As a results clinical and laboratory variables are listed and scored. Total scores of each of the three vasculitides show a sensitivity and specificity of 93/94% for GPA, 87/96% for MPA and 88/98% for eGPA.
Relevance:
The table listing items and scores will be of great help in clinical practice.
